I flubbed finishing the update this week, but for once I have a somewhat decent excuse. The demo of the VN adaption of the story has finally been released! Head on over to itch and give it a try; it's free, and adapts roughly the first 6 chapters of the story, plus a few extras.

You can find it here. https://lurinavn.itch.io/the-flower-that-bloomed-nowhere

(If you felt a sense of dread at 'first 6 chapters', don't worry, the VN's narrative has been revised pretty significantly for the format (and other reasons), so it shouldn't take 40 years to develop the whole thing, hopefully. A lot of the time so far has been spent developing basic assets, so further relases should be a lot faster.)

You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author.

As readers of the novel, I would love to hear your thoughts on it, either here, the discord, or in the itch.io comments. It's been a rough transition to the format, so despite how long I've spent fussing over the minutia of the script, there's definite room for improvement.

Thank you so much to Zerovirus and Benedict, who did most of the work on the art and coding respectively. This project would have been completely impossible without their help. I never imagined starting off writing TFTBN that I'd ever be able to do something like this, and I'm super excited about it, even if it's so far out of my wheelhouse it's a little scary!

And if you're not into VNs, then don't worry, this version will continue on as normal. I think there are things that each format does better; prose definitely allows for more sprawl and in-depth exploration of specific little things, for example. (Though maybe a little too much sprawl, sometimes...) So whatever version of the story you consume, I'm excited for the future and thank you as ever for reading!
